Fall is Here: Go Outside and Play!

It’s fall! The season is changing and it’s getting a lot cooler outside. With that in mind, you should go out and play. You should enjoy it. Whether you do things with your friends, your family members, or both, there is a lot of time to devote to having fun. In many areas of the country it’s simply too hot to be outside during the height of summer. You have to stay inside where the air conditioning is and try to plan your outdoor activities really early in the morning or very late at night. By doing so you can avoid some of the worst of the heat. Things like barbecues, birthday parties, and other get-togethers, however, can’t really take place that way. They usually happen in the afternoon or early evening, and that means that it’s going to be warm. It keeps people from playing games like Frisbee, horseshoes, badminton, and Cornhole. As the weather cools, though, you can be outside and really enjoy it, and that means fun times with family and friends and the Cornhole game. For those who play it all the time, they can’t wait to get their game boards out. For those who are new to it, it’s a fun and easy game to play, and anyone can do it.
The Cornhole game – which is sometimes also called the bean bag game or the bean bag toss – is a lot of fun. The board is made of wood or plastic, and it’s two feet by four feet. Some people also use the two foot by three foot, smaller board because it’s easier to transport and move around. Whichever board you choose to use, you just put it on the ground outside and get ready. There are small, cloth bags that are stuffed with lightweight plastic pellets. They used to be stuffed with dried corn or dried beans when the game was created, but plastic is now used because it doesn’t biodegrade or become damaged if it gets wet. These bags are tossed at the board from a specific distance away. Bags that go through the hole in the board are worth points, and bags that land on the board and stay there are worth points, but not as many. If a bag misses the board or hits it but does not stay on, no points are given. The great thing about this game is that it’s not physically taxing and the rules are not complicated, so there’s no reason why almost anyone can’t enjoy it.
From the very young the the very old – and even the disabled – there are a lot of people who play the Cornhole game and really love it. Some people love it so much that they organize tournaments for it. A lot of people get together at these tournaments and they play for cash or for some very simple prizes. The idea is not so much about winning a lot of money but about having fun with other people who share the love of the Cornhole game.
Dave Roth runs a site that sells cornhole games. In addition to free building dimensions and rules, the site also carries discount cornhole bags boards.
