Hottest Food Franchise Business Opportunities: Pizza

Written by CandiceClem on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Business.

Some estimates claim that Americans eat a whopping 100 acres of pizza a day. To give you an idea of what that means, imagine the entire landscape of Disneyland covered in tomato sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. But it doesn’t stop at the fences, because Disneyland is only 85 acres; this pizza hangs over into the surrounding neighborhoods. That is how much pizza America eats every single day.

With so many people eating pizza, it’s no wonder so many people are trying to sell it. Drive down virtually any street, and you’re likely to run into a pizza restaurant before too long,. The fact is that pizza profits are huge, and anyone with the desire can easily get in on it, making their dough by tossing dough.

Of all the business opportunities available in this tasty industry, at least two are going to stand out to anyone who has ever turned on a TV; these are the dominant masters of the mass-pizza world. We all know them, and we’ve all had their product time and again and are quite aware that everyone else has too, giving them a heavy-duty staying power in the market. Who are these dough-tossing, sauce-spreading moguls? You know them by the names Pizza Hut and Domino’s, and anyone with the financial backing and a desire to sell low-cost pizzas by the truckload can easily get into business with them, instantly profiting from their universal brand recognition and mass marketing capability. There isn’t a whole lot of wiggle room for franchisees to make up their own rules here, but that’s a small price to pay for the selling power that comes with joining one of the dominant forces in the pizza industry.

Not everyone is content to wear the same red uniform, cook the same discount pizza, and accept the same little coupons that half of the rest of the pizza market does. If all you want is to not be “the man” of the pizza world, there are a host of selections for you as well, and here are a few of them.

Not necessarily a far cry from Pizza Hut or Domino’s but far enough apart that it still carries some intrigue and homestyle charm, Hungry Howie’s Pizza is a rising star in the industry. Now with 575 locations in 24 states, they have proven in their 35 year run that they have the product quality to last and the business know-how to expand. The secret to their success is that they have uniquely flavored crusts (eight of them, in fact); not only do the toppings change, but so does the dough itself. Nearly every aspect of Hungry Howie’s Pizza has been tested and perfected within its own walls, so you know that it works.

Some people are very particular about the style of pizza that they eat—and thus the kind that they make—and few styles are more distinct or popular than New York style pizza, which is what makes NYPD Pizza such a hit Although the name might imply that you’ll be getting a New York pizza served by a retired police officer, the idea behind NYPD Pizza is a bit different . They do use a police theme (you can open either a “metro unit” or a “precinct” depending on the needs of your area) but the name is primarily to denote that their pizza is 100% Brooklyn-style, regardless of where in the country a franchise pops up, and it is popping up everywhere.

Maybe you’re interested in a more novel idea for your own food franchise, like take-and-bake. This concept works exactly as it sounds: you buy it, take it home, and bake it yourself. Papa Murphy’s Pizza is front-runner in the take and bake pizza industry and this non-traditional pizza concept makes smart business sense as well as tasty pizza. Because the pizzas aren’t cooked or served on-site, less labor and space are required, and purchase and upkeep costs are much lower than a traditional pizza place. To make matters better, customer loyalty is through the roof wherever a location pops up. Whether it’s the control over how long your pizza cooks or being able to eat hot pizza fresh out of the oven in the comfort of their own home, Papa Murphy’s Pizza has developed a strong brand with more customer loyalty than just about any other pizza chain.

Finally, for the true connoisseur who is not content with an ordinary pizza, allow me to recommend two other companies that are making a splash in the industry. Pizza Fusion is a sprouting miracle of a restaurant that combines first-rate pizza-making with a healthy, environmentally friendly approach to the pizza industry. How does a pizza place go green? Simple, they follow all conceivable energy-saving guidelines, which both saves the planet and saves up to 30% on energy bills for the operation. Another unique pizza choice is zpizza, a franchise operation quickly scaling the ladder of success, opening franchises all over the nation, and abroad. What they really excel at is mixing non-standard flavors to concoct pizzas that wow the taste buds and continuously bring back customers who are looking for more than sausage and pepperoni. And yet, they don’t miss the basics either, as noted by the LA Times, announcing confidently that they have “the best crust on the planet.” Both of these businesses make for happy owners and happier customers.

When looking for a food business opportunity, one of the most important things to consider is whether or not the business and its product have a future. With pizza, there’s no doubt about the future. I don’t know anyone who expects to never eat pizza again, and it might serve you well to be the one selling it, because we’ve got quite a few more acres to go before we’re done.

Top 5 Fun Home Based Businesses

Written by CandiceClem on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Business.

There are many things that set franchisees apart from the rest of the working world. One key advantage is that franchisees are some of the only businesspeople that have total control over what industry they work in and what they do within that industry. Many people don’t have the luxury of choosing a job based on what they enjoy doing, but home business franchise buyers do, and they have plenty of fun choices to choose from. If doing work that you personally find enjoyable sounds appealing, take a quick browse through the following 5 work from home business opportunities and see if any of them has what you’re looking for.

American Vending Systems

The specialty of this particular home based business is something they like to call a Buzz Bite: a chewy chocolate candy, packing the same caffeinated punch as a full cup of coffee. Aside from the tasty, energetic product, one perk of this business is the great deal of operative freedom given to owners, including finding the sales locations of their choice and running as many or as few machines as desired. Every day, the American Vending Systems franchisee decides for himself how business will be conducted and how many happy customers will walk away with a satisfactory caffeine buzz.

DVDNow

Owning this franchise is like running a video rental store, except you don’t have to be present to rent out the movies, because an automated vending machine does it for you. This means that you can not only be attending to other business while your business is making money for you, but you can also have multiple machines taking in money for rentals at the same time. Find prime locations for convenient DVD rentals and simply put machines in place; the rest takes care of itself. Automated movie kiosks have already taken Europe by storm and are starting to sweep into the US, so now is the perfect time to jump on board and reap the benefits of this new and vastly popular way to rent a movie.

Virtuoso Music

There are two primary components to this business, and as long as the entrepreneur is able to take pleasure in at least one of them, this could prove to be a very fun operation. First, the franchisee who likes music is likely to love this home based business. Second, if you enjoy serving people by helping them learn, then you also will get a big kick out of what Virtuoso does. As a franchisee with this internet home based buisness, you have the privilege of connecting people who want to learn to sing or play an instrument with local instructors who can make that happen. Given all the tools for success by the franchisor, a franchisee is given the joy of providing instructors with work, giving customers a new creative outlet, and spreading the excitement that comes with encountering music.

TVME Inc.

Though the most fun aspect of a night out with friends is undoubtedly the friends, music playing over the sounds of laughing guests only makes things all the better. A good TVME franchisee makes such a fun atmosphere possible by providing establishments with the computer equipment necessary to run all their music and video media from a central machine. Though the guests at a restaurant or bowling alley are unlikely to know that TVME Inc. is behind the high quality audio and video entertainment, the business clients that purchase the machines certainly see the difference, in terms of increased numbers of guests and revenue.

ElizaJ

This wedding home based buisness provides outdoor weddings with one of the most unsung but critical parts of the event: the bathroom. And it does it in the classiest way possible, renting out facilities that are on par if not nicer than the restrooms in many homes. They come with running water, which doesn’t require any hookups. Some have included heating, air conditioning, wheelchair accessibility, and stereo receivers for music.

These are great business options for anyone looking to do something a little different, but ultimately, what really brings excitement to any business model, fun or otherwise, is the franchisee’s own ability to enjoy even the mundane, the laborious, and the abnormal things that happen in the course of a work day. If one of these franchises can make your enjoyment of work flow more naturally, by all means pursue it, but regardless of what franchise you choose, take pleasure in it.

10 Retail Franchise Businesses You May Never Have Considered

Written by CandiceClem on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Business.

The word retail can bring to mind a handful of things for the average American: Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s, JC Penny, a favorite book shop, and maybe the handful of little mom-and-pops in the neighborhood. Entrepreneurs, however, are no ordinary Americans, and they know that there are plenty of other business opportunities available to anyone hoping to start a retail franchise. Often, there are still many business opportunities that remain overlooked, and often, these overlooked opportunities are some of the best. So take a moment to look at the retail franchises you might not have noticed before.

From an American perspective, Cartridge World seems like an up-and-comer in the retail world, but really, the company has been building a franchising force for the last 17 years. Since its start in Australia in 1991, this company has grown to the size of 1600 international stores, 500 of which are spreading across the United States, and all of that success has been built on one simple principle: printers need ink cartridges, and refilling them is much easier and cheaper than buying them new.

One market that is often overlooked is the mailbox shop, and a major player in the business is The Mailbox Stores. Technically, this business is not a franchise, because the buyer is given 100% control of the operation and has no royalties or fees to pay; however, he still gets all the initial planning and continuing business help that he needs to succeed at renting personal mail boxes and providing mailing services to his clients. The Mailbox Stores provide all the perks of a franchise with fewer responsibilities.

Another forgotten industry is mattresses. If we think about it, the overwhelming majority of America uses a mattress every single night. We spend an average of one third of our lives in ben, and for that reason, there is always a demand for mattresses. Franchising with America’s Mattress throws you into a retail market that will exist as long as human beings keep sleeping—which should be awhile.

Let’s not forget a retail hero that we all know and love, though we may not always think about it: the dollar store. Though you may never have been in a Dollar Stores by Allied Systems franchise, you have undoubtedly had the dollar store experience somewhere very similar. Business in this market keeps up very steadily, making this sometimes snubbed business truly profitable, even when that profit comes in one dollar at a time.

A big sector of retail is clothing, but not all clothing franchise opportunities are created equally. One option on the table for the franchisee with an eye for something different is flip-flops—yes, the footwear. If you’re looking for a specialty shop, it doesn’t get any more specialty than the Flip Flop Shop, where all they sell is sandals. The stock is relatively simple; the clientele is downright fun; and by design, the store is built to succeed in the average American mall. Another mall-targeting retail outlet is Hometown Threads; the name to trust when it comes to clothing personalization. Whether the customer is getting 200 hoodies embroidered with their company logo or getting a special image screen-printed on a baseball cap for his brother’s birthday, there is always work to do in a retail market that is increasingly leaning to personalized products.

One off-the-radar establishment is Pacific Power Batteries. Everyone uses batteries, yet most of us don’t even know how many different kinds there are, but Pacific Power Batteries does. They provide everything from batteries for your emergency flashlight, to equipment for solar panels, which means that anyone who has any kind of energy needs is a viable source of business.

Another good company that you’ve probably never seen is Baby Safe Homes, the name to call for childproofing safety equipment. This work from home business does all of its retail work out of a company vehicle, but the work is not just sales. The owner provides consultations, in-home safety analyses, product sales, and installation where necessary. It’s not just retail; it’s full service.

Finally, if you want something in the retail/service market, a salon is a great choice, and there are a number of great business opportunities here. None is more interesting than a men’s salon. Yes, you read that right, with your own American Male franchise, you can be one of the few operations in town that caters specifically to the beauty needs of local upscale men. It is a relaxed environment for franchisee, employees, and clients because that is precisely what the shop must be to address the needs of busy, and often stressed, guests. But if a women’s salon seems more in line with your personal retail goals, :10 Minute Manicure is a great option. Based on an original shop built in an airport, the concept is simple and perfect for a fast-paced world: get clients in, served, relaxed, and out in only 10 minutes. It seems like it could be a challenge for someone with no previous experience in salon life, but the business was begun by an attorney and 2 PR executives, so you can be certain that whatever your professional past, their systems are successful enough to see you through.

It’s amazing what can be found by simply taking the time to look past the businesses that you recognize. Virtually any retail small business franchise has a good outlook for success, but if you pick something that not everyone is doing, at least you’ll have more fun telling people what you do.

How to Make a Vending Home Based Business Work For You

Written by CandiceClem on Monday, September 8th, 2008 in Business.

Of all the home based businesses out there, none seem simpler to successfully run than a vending machine distributorship. Really, how hard can it be to purchase a vending machine, find a home for said machine, fill it with a variety of products, and stop by every now and then to scoop up a bucket-load of quarters?

As I look back on my own life, though, almost every time I’ve asked a question beginning with the words “how hard can it be,” I’ve ended up with a task infinitely harder than I’d obviously anticipated. And that can very easily become the story of any vending franchisee blissfully unaware of what challenges are actually ahead. If you can anticipate any foreseeable problems, the vending machine can be a very lucrative home based business, so to save any unsuspecting small business buyers the pain of finding the challenges out the hard way, we’ll take a look at some of the very important aspects of successful vending that are often overlooked.

Research

One of the most important things to do when starting any small business is to do all your homework before investing in your franchise business. Most likely, if you’re reading this article, you’re already taking care of the research side of things, but there is still something specific that a potential vending franchisee should be looking at, and you may not be aware of its importance to the future of your business. That detail is machine quality.

It may come as a surprise, but not all machines are built the same. In the past, many were built of various plastics, which meant that although they were cheaper to purchase, they required a variety of replacement parts since plastic isn’t terribly durable under constant mechanical wear. The better way to go is metal, and one company with outstanding machines is Uturn Vending. Despite having many moving parts, their machines are said to be some of the toughest candy machines in the business.

Location

As with all businesses, vending location is key to a lucrative business. Most successful candy vendors find so much success precisely because they chose to put their machines in high-traffic locations where people tend to stop and stand for some time. Bus stops, train stations, waiting rooms, grocery stores—anywhere that the machine will be present before a relatively stationary crowd is good place. While crowds often equate to big profits, make sure that the machine’s location matches its product—or visa-versa. DVDNow machines, which offer DVD rentals, do not go in public restrooms any more than a Love Maine Lobster Claw machine, which actually vends live lobster, belongs in a bank; just use common sense. If for some reason you have a hard time nailing down your locations, many franchisors will do the service of selecting appropriate locations for you.

Prices

Many first-time owners of a vending franchise make the mistake of setting their prices too low—it seems counter-intuitive, but it’s true. Vending machine owners who are afraid of setting prices too high wind up not making enough money to pay their bills, continue purchasing machines and further expand the business. Something winds up suffering, and generally it’s the expansion of the operation. Look at the products and prices of other machines in the location you select, as well as nearby and similar locations before setting your price in stone.

Financial Management

In a business that runs entirely on cash, it’s all too easy to fall into the trap of moving the profit straight from your Vendstar machine right into your pocket without any kind of plan. But doing this is dangerous both to the longevity and growth of your work at home business as well as your own personal bank account. If you’re not purposefully setting aside money from each extraction for the purchase of more machines, it is not uncommon for the business size to stagnate. What’s more, if there isn’t a specific fund for taxes and another for refilling the machines, when it comes time for each of those, the only alternative to falling out of the game or finding yourself in hot water with Uncle Sam is withdrawing the necessary funds from your personal account. There’s an old saying that goes, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” It may be a bit corny, but it’s pretty accurate.

The problem for many work from home business owners is a lack of awareness and foresight. What all of these vending considerations boil down to is that you need to be aware of your current environment and attentive to where you want to go with your company. Vending isn’t terribly hard, but if you treat it like a game, it won’t pay off, because it still remains a business

There are literally millions of online businesses on the Internet today, including highly successful ones such as the travel giant Platinum One Destinations. There are also hundreds of new businesses popping up each day while hundreds of others fold. What makes or breaks an online business? How can you tell if you are investing in an online opportunity that will be successful?

There are some key characteristics that you need to look for any time you are thinking about leaving your traditional job and working from home via the Internet. Although almost any online opportunity you look at will promise you the moon and stars, most can’t deliver. Be a savvy business person and read everything thoroughly; make sure they have the means to deliver on what they’re saying. Some of the things an online affiliate company with solid earning potential should offer include:

It should appeal to a broad customer base. Look into businesses that sell products are services that everyone will use. Vitamin and mineral supplements always sell because health never goes out of style. Everyone from mothers with young children to body builders will order some kind of supplement. Whether it’s a family going to Disney World, frequent business travelers or a couple planning the trip of a lifetime, travel is also a money maker. Don’t narrow your focus too much, a company that offers a service with broad appeal will always have customers.

Look for a company with a variety of income streams. Selling the product or service being offered isn’t always the only way to make money with an Internet company. In fact, with the most successful companies, it’s almost never the primary income source for top earners. Multiple income streams come into play, for instance, with a company like Platinum One Destinations. Through them, you can earn income from direct sales of travel memberships, qualifying sales made by team members, commissions booked off your website, upgrades and several other tools. In this way, you are earning income every day and building on past performance.

It must have an outstanding training program. Any time you begin working with an established Internet business, you need to ask questions about what they can do for you. If they want you to join their team, but expect you to sink or swim on your own, walk away. It’s unfair for them to throw you into the business without a solid education on their methods. A good company will have a training program that gives you everything you need to hit the ground running. Look for thorough training websites, scripts, web casts and online support staff that can be contacted by email or phone whenever you have questions.

The company should offer advertising resources. One of the biggest costs of getting started with an Internet business, particularly when you are going into an affiliate marketing program, is the cost of advertising and marketing. You will need to look professional when you set up your own website. Unfortunately this can quickly become cost prohibitive.

Look for companies that offer you access to professionally designed logos, banners and flyers that you can use for a sophisticated looking website from day one. Site visitors are more inclined to trust your site and make a purchase if you have the look of an established, professional site with money behind it. Nothing is more disconcerting to a potential buyer than a second-rate site that looks like it was slapped together by a high school student.

After you’ve reviewed some affiliate Internet marketing companies and narrowed your list down to a few that you’re really interested in, make a few phone calls. See if you can talk to someone at each company who can answer some of the personal questions you may have come up with concerning their company or your own fears about entering the Internet marketing world. In most cases, businesses will be happy to talk to you about their program and answer all of your questions.

How to Identify a Good Business Opportunity: 7 Points You Must Consider

Written by YunarWinardi on Sunday, September 7th, 2008 in Business.

These days, we see many business opportunities coming in and out very fast, often we feel overwhelmed about this info. Choosing the good one is not an easy task to do. To filter out the offers we can identify several factors, including: the company, the product, the system, the compensation plan, how do we get paid, cost to start up, and support from the company.

1. The company:

The company behind the business is very important. You must be able to check the background of the company. When the company founded, who is behind the company, whether it debt free etc.

They should disclose their board of directors, staff, and office physical address.

It is a plus point if you can verify them through a government website about their company.

2. The product:

High quality product is a must in any business, not all people interested in the system or compensation plan. Many people still looking for the great product for them to be used personally or to be sold again. The product can be physical product, or services as long as it useful for most people. Do not be fooled by a business opportunity that does not have any product, that business will not long lasting, we can called it money game.

3. The system:

If we found the system is hard to follow, then it will hard for others to follow and understand too therefore you will not make money easily from it.

When people feel easy to run the business opportunity they will interested and the rate of success is higher.

Try to find a system that anybody can follow, this will help our success in this business.

4. The compensation plan:

Is the commission fair to you? Some company require you to make a pair of sales, or binary sale or even make a series of sales before your receive commission. Try to find the compensation plan that pay you even you only made 1 sale, they must reward your effort.

5. How do we get paid?

Are they offered us payment via bank account, ATM card or any other system. Choose the one with the easiest way for you to withdraw your commissions.

Some company will ask us to wait 30 days or more before they sent our commission. You can find the shortest period, bi-weekly, weekly daily or real time. The shortest is the best.

6. Small amount money to startup:

Find the company with relatively small amount of money to start up with. Be careful with small charge at first but it recurring every month, you can end up with huge cost.

If the cost recurring monthly choose under $10

If it one time cost with real products, you can choose from $100 to $1000 (depend on the product).

7. Good support from the company:

Choose the company that gives you fast response of support. A good company will listen to their member’s opinion to improve the business.

This way will give you the feeling of secure when you need anything to ask or a problem to solved, related to your business opportunity.

Franchising Tip: Motivate Your Employees!

Written by SamanthaMcCartney on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 in Business.

Buying a franchise is a great way to become a business owner. In becoming a business owner you will have to learn and practice many different skills to be successful versus just being an employee. In reality you will most likely be transitioning from an employee to an owner/manager. This may actually be able to help you since you still remember what is like to be an employee. Whether you are a new franchisee or have been one for some time knowing how to motivate your employees will be a critical part running your franchise and becoming successful!

For starters, remember back to when you were an employee for someone else. Think about your favorite job and where you felt you did your best. Chances are that time that you are remembering is when you had an outstanding manager who knew how to motivate his/her employee’s.

The reason that you want to motivate your employees is so that they can be successful as well as yourself. A person who is happy and feels needed and challenged will produce a greater quality of work than one who isn’t. Also, if you never do anything fun, as a team or never encourage your employees they will not see a point in doing a good job for you. So, keep all of your employees motivated!

If you are unsure of exactly how to motivate your employees here a few suggestions:

The easiest way is to show them recognition and attention for doing a good job. Everyone wants to know that they are doing well, especially from their manager. Using specific praise is a great way to show you recognize them and their efforts!

Provide ongoing training for your employees! Keeping your employees current with what is happening and knowing what they are doing can provide for a great sense of security for them and will provide better outcomes for your franchise if everyone knows what they are doing.

Also provide a clear career path for all employees. Make sure that they know they can go somewhere with your franchise. When they know there is room to grow they will consistently try to make themselves a better asset to your franchise. It is a win-win situation for you both.

A good work environment is a must! Almost everyone feels that the work environment plays a key role in how employees feel about their place of work. Keeping it honest, safe, clean, and stable is a good way to keep your employees motivated.

Be at team. This is one of the best ways to motivate your employees. Feeling like part of a team is important; you could have pictures made or work together to support a good cause, something like a food drive. At one job I had, we had hot dog stands to raise money for different charities, schools or other community issues. It was a great way to work as a team and do something good for the community!

You may also consider doing some type of snack or lunch for everyone. It may be just because or because of the good efforts of everyone on the team to accomplish something. It is a nice gesture on your part and really lets your employees know you care!

You may also decide to have small contests with your employees. As a manager once I had a selling contest for a small item that was one sale and gave a prize to the person who sold the most each day. Not only did the employees have a good time, the customers were smiling and we sold more of that item than ever before.

These are only a few ways to motivate your employees, there are many more. So, use these ideas and more to keep your employees motivated!

Franchise Marketing: Step it Up a Notch!

Written by SamanthaMcCartney on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 in Business.

Keeping a steady flow of customers is a task for any franchise owner. You want to keep your current customers and start getting new ones if you want to be a successful franchise owner. Chances are your franchisor provides you with some forms of marketing or advertising. However that may not be enough for you. So, if you have already tried doing a few small things to increase your business you may want to look at some other ways to advertise for your franchise at the next level. With such a growing market there are many ways to advertise for your business, but check out a couple things you could do to step it up a notch!

You could create a television ad for your franchise. A great way to reach customers is by creating a television advertisement. You will need to make sure that you create something suited for what you are promoting and make it interesting. Also make sure that when choosing a channel or channels that you choose appropriately. If you have an auto body shop it would be wise to put it on a channel that shows car shows. However, you will not reach a huge market since it will be limited to those who watch t.v, and then to those who watch the channel you choose.

You may also decide to go to the radio to reach your customers! A local radio will most likely let you do a radio ad yourself or they can do it for you. You want someone who has a great and exciting voice, however not annoying, for the radio ad. If the voice is not interesting your potential customer will most likely not listen. Also having a catchy saying or song will help since the customer may get it in their head.

Have you considered a billboard to advertise for your franchise? This is a great idea since so many people drive by them each day. You will be able to reach a wide variety of people. If you decide to do this you need to consider location. You want your billboard to be somewhere lots of people will pass it and also near your franchise location. Also you should consider is making the advertisement catchy, usually something funny will work. Make sure it is also appealing to the eye as far as colors, and what you decide to put on it.

And, don’t forget about your local newspaper when you advertise your franchise. This is a great way to reach potential customers. Also you should run the ad for at least 3-4 weeks since that will gain people’s attention seeing it more than once. It is important that you choose a good section of the paper to put the ad in.

All of these are great ways to promote your franchise and start getting new customers to check out what you’re offering! You will soon be on your way to big success if you utilize as many forms of advertising as you possibly can.

If you are embarking on being a franchisee, you have made a great choice. You will be investing your money and time into something that can bring you great successful personally and financially. You will become your own boss and have great satisfaction in saying you own your own business. However, you may be thinking you want to achieve greater successful as a franchisee by starting more than one franchise. The concept of starting more than one franchise can be very risky or have the potential to be very successful! You may have found several franchise opportunities that you would like to invest in.

Choosing which franchise can be a hard decision especially if you are wanted to open more than one.

If you have more than one franchise of interest and have the money and business skills needed you may be thinking of opening different types of franchises to challenge yourself and increase your potential profits.

The very first thing you need to do is research if the potential franchisor allows you to purchase different franchises. Many franchisors will only allow you to own or operate other businesses while owning a franchise from them. They make want you to focus on their brand and making it a success. Also they may not feel that you will be truly dedicated to their brand if you are branching in different directions. So, before you get to involved you need to figure out if the options you want will be available to you if you choose a certain franchise. Remember you will have to be equally and fully committed to each franchise you start.

Also, keep in mind that if you decide to open multiple franchises of different types they will each come with their own contracts from each franchisor. This means you will be learning multiple businesses at one time and learning to comply with each franchisor separately. This can be quite a big task to take on. So you may want to consider opening them at separate times from each other to avoid being in the middle of a tug a war match.

One good thing about opening different types of franchises is that you are not putting all your money in one pot. If one does not do well or is not suited for you it will only be one versus if you bought multi units from one franchisor.

Buying multi units from one franchisor is another alternative that you have if you wish to open more than one franchise. This can be a great benefit to you since you will gain operating benefits from it as well as start up benefits from the franchisor. Because it is only one franchise you will only being learning one new business system. You may also have more power in the franchisors opinion since you own more than one franchise from them.

The choice is ultimately up to you and you must decide what is right for you! What works for one person is not what will work for another.
